Technical Dive Training
One On One Scuba Training is now offering Nauitec's Intro to Tech and Technical Nitrox classes in small groups. Contact us for more information and scheduling.
Intro to Tech and NTEC
The Introduction to Technical Diving Course is designed as a bridge for the recreational diver
as an introduction to the rigors and discipline of technical diving. This is the course that starts to prepare you
for deeper and longer dives. The academic work covers dive planning, physics and physiology, decompression, and decompression
associated with technical diving.
NTEC stands for NAUI Technical Equipment Configuration and is a part of the Intro to Tech class. The NTEC standard is the basis for technical diving equipment...double tanks, backplate and wing instead of a BC, primary regulator on a long hose, wrist mounted gauges, etc. The equipment configuration is addressed both in the academic and open water training.
Open water skills include precise buoyancy control and a horizontal swimming position, correct weighting, hovering off the bottom, non-silting propulsion techniques, all manner of emergency procedures, and ascents that include multiple stops both on a line and in mid-water.
The course includes two academic sessions, a pool session, a minimum of four training dives (and the key word here is minimum), plus an evaluation dive and an experience dive. Max depth for this course is 60 feet. The course fee is $695 per person, minimum of two people maximum of four.

Technical Nitrox
The Technical EANx (Nitrox) Diver course will provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to minimize the risks of utilizing optimal breathing gas EANx mixtures through 100% (oxygen) for dives to a depth of 130 fsw / 40 msw not requiring stage decompression.
Minimum prerequisits include NAUI EANx Diver and Deep Diver (or equivalent) and 50 logged dives with 10 dives on EANx. Max depth is 130 feet. This is not a decompression techniques class, but will prepare you for deeper dive training. We will simulate various decompression schedules and will learn to work with stage bottles and deco bottles.
